About Youth With A Mission Norway

We share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to people all over the world.

We offer help and development to the poor and needy, through both short-term and long-term missions.

Youth With A Mission Norway is a part of the international missions movement Youth With A Mission (YWAM). YWAM Norway is located in twelve centres around the country, from Kristiansand in the south and all the way to the world’s northernmost centre at Borgen in the north. Together we work toward a common vision: to know God and make Him known. From these centres we run different ministries such as Family Focus, Proklamedia, Mot Målet and YWAM Medical Ships. YWAM Norway also has different ministries not connected to any of these centres, such as Hjertefokus, TX-Vikings, Krussen and Tabitasenteret.

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) affirms that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God and, with the Holy Spirit’s inspiration, the absolute reference point for every aspect of life and ministry. Based upon God’s Word, who He is, and His initiative of salvation, the following responses are strongly emphasized in YWAM:

Worship — We are called to praise and worship God alone.

Holiness — We are called to lead holy and righteous lives that exemplify the nature and character of God.

Witness — We are called to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who do not know Him.

Prayer — We are called to engage in intercessory prayer for the people and causes on God’s heart, including standing against evil in every form.

Fellowship — We are called to commit to the church in both its local nurturing expression and its mobile multiplying expression.

Service — We are called to contribute toward God’s kingdom purposes in every sphere of life.

Youth With A Mission has eighteen values that are guiding principles for all of our work. Some are common for Christians everywhere, others are distinctive for Youth With A Mission. The combination of these beliefs and values makes up the unique family characteristics of YWAM – our “DNA.” They are values we hold in high regard, and which determine who we are, how we live and how we make decisions.

Read about the values here.

Youth With A Mission is a charitable organisation, and the organisation’s leaders and staff are individually responsible for their financial needs. Around 400 people work in YWAM Norway. YWAM Norway also has about 140 people sent out in missions to other countries.

YWAM Norway desires to work and stand together with all churches and Christian organisations, and aims to contribute to a greater unity among Christians. Even though our work embraces all ages and life situations, our special focus is on youth. We train people through Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) and through University of the Nations (UofN).

Youth With A Mission Norway is located in twelve different centres around Norway. There we run a variety of DTSs, Bible schools, worship schools, family ministries, mission work, prayer ministry and national administration.
